TRISH ITALIA    “Beading is therapeutic. It’s fun to see a tray of beads and have one     spark something in you.”          Trish and her husband ventured to Galena for weekend getaways for        35 years until one day she decided she just couldn’t leave again. Moved        by the natural beauty and the creative atmosphere it provided, Trish made       her home in the heart of Northwest Illinois.     Trish’s first love was quilting, which led to collecting beads and found items to embellish her work. She, too, had her own business in the fabric arts and exhibited at art and craft shows. It was at these shows that she first met Jan Ketza-Harris and developed a long-lasting friendship; Jan and Trish shared mutual respect for each other’s talents and differing styles. Trish’s transition to jewelry came from daughter and Galena Beads co-owner Jess Italia. While living and working in Chicago, Jess returned to show her mom her new hobby—and passion. Together, they shared cherished time discussing their ideas, designs, and experiments with new techniques and materials. Bead Diva Trish’s strength lies in her talent for wire wrapping. Trish is glad to share her tips and techniques and offers workshops so you can create your own wrapped jewelry.
